Any mother who has corona virus infection and she is breastfeeding should do the following:

  • Maintain strict hygiene and wash your hands before each feed.
  • Wear a face mask.
  • If she does not want to breastfeed. She may pump or express by hand the breast milk and have someone who is not sick feed it to the baby.

Wao, covid-19  has been detected  in the breast milk of infected mothers but according  to ncdc, in a limited  research it is still not sure whether  the virus  can be passed  from mother to child through the breast milk. Please  ncdc do more research on this so that women breastfeeding  can be aware  and get tested to protect  their child. This is really serious  please.
